‘APMG AgilePM (Agile Project Management)’ is a framework built around Agile, one of the world’s most popular project management methodologies. It offers insight into how Agile best practices can be successfully used and adapted to projects of various sizes and characteristics in different industries and sectors.
Agile Project Management is based on both Agile and the Dynamics Systems Development Method (DSDM). It encourages flexibility, adaptability, and iterative management, prioritizing successive gains that help justify projects and keep stakeholders happy.
The framework follows demonstrably effective best practices. It encourages flexibility and adaptability by avoiding stringent plans and instead focusing on short-term gains and self-organization for different roles.
The framework also offers repeatable insight that businesses can continue to utilize and adapt in future projects.
AgilePM can be studied and utilized by anyone looking to make project management a part of their career. The best-practices it offers are also general enough to be applied to virtually any organization regardless of industry, size, sector, or location.
According to Payscale, an Agile project manager can earn between $55,000 and over $172,000 (or £21,000 and over £118,000). Each candidate’s exact salary will depend on their position, experience, industry, and so on.
Agile as a concept has inspired a number of project management methodologies, including Lean, PRINCE2 Agile, and DSDM. At its heart, Agile offers a number of essential benefits, including increased flexibility, streamlined collaboration, the ability for teams to learn from each and every project, and improved stakeholder management.
APMG (APM Group) International is an examination and accreditation body that oversees various certification schemes, including AgilePM.
The APMG International AgilePM Foundation exam is a closed-book exam consisting of 50 multiple-choice questions. Students have 40 minutes to complete the exam and must score at least 50% to pass.
Agile Project Management is compatible with a number of other popular frameworks, including PRINCE2 and ITIL 4.
