One of the primary focuses of the TOGAF enterprise architecture framework is to use enterprise architecture (EA) in order to improve the capabilities of businesses. This emphasis is reflected in Phase B of the Architectural Development Method (ADM), ‘Business Architecture’.

When creating enterprise architectures, the needs of the business in question should always be emphasized. Phase B builds on the requirements established in Phase A, creating a target which can meet the ‘Architecture Vision’. It also treats business needs as a prerequisite for work in other domains, such as IT and data. Most importantly, it establishes the business value and ROI for architecture work. In a world where corporate jargon is constantly being thrown around, being able to quantify the value of enterprise architecture is essential!

In this video, Mike from Good e-Learning goes over Phase B of the ADM, its purpose and what it entails. Good e-Learning is an award-winning online course provider, having won the prize for ‘Outstanding Certification Product’ at The Open Group 2018 Awards in London. The reason for this is that we focus on making our courses engaging; rather than offering endless slides or PDFs, we utilize a variety of learning tools, including gamified quizzes, interactive videos and motion graphics.

Our enterprise architecture course portfolio covers TOGAF extensively. The TOGAF Awareness course offers a clear introduction to the framework, while our TOGAF Foundation and Certification course can help students to pursue official TOGAF qualifications. We also have options for certified TOGAF practitioners, with the TOGAF Essentials 2018 course offering an excellent way for professionals to bridge their knowledge from TOGAF 9.1 to TOGAF 9.2. If you cannot find a course which suits you, we can even create bespoke courses built around specific business goals and KPIs.
