The module offers insight into a number of tools and best practices that are extremely useful for senior IT service managers who must regularly answer to and address the needs of stakeholders.

What is ITIL Strategic Leader?

ITIL Strategic Leader (SL) is one of the branches of the ITIL 4 certification path. It features modules that recognize the value of ITIL for all digitally-enabled services, rather than just those associated with IT operations.

Upon passing the ITIL Strategist: Direct, Plan & Improve (DPI) and ITIL Leader: Digital & IT Strategy (DITS) examinations, a candidate will earn the designation of ITIL 4 Strategic Leader. This will demonstrate their understanding of how IT impacts business strategy and vice versa.

If a candidate has already passed the ITIL DPI exam as part of the ‘ITIL Managing Professional (MP)’ stream, they will not need to take the exam a second time.

What does the ITIL 4 certification path look like?

Students start with 'ITIL Foundation'. Passing the Foundation exam then enables them to choose modules in the 'ITIL Managing Professional' or 'ITIL Strategic Leader' streams.

After passing all intermediate modules, students can then move on to the rank of 'ITIL Master'.
